  Fire Walls and Sueing the Society

  a few thoughts about the society's efforts to protect itself from litigation.. i attended the elder's seminar a few years back where we were instructed to write in our elder's manual a few extra instructions pertaining to filling out the society's disfellowshipping forms and other aspects related to judicial cases.

  that was nothing terribly unusual.

  we often wrote in clarifications and updates during meetings with the co. this time was a little different because we filled an entire page with seven(i think) specific instructions.

  Hello Grits,

  There are considerable regional differences throughout the United States. The JWs like to think that they are very different and separate from the world, but the truth is that many of the things of the world are also the things of the JW community.

  In certain areas many JWs are closer to or actually are professionally trained and educated. They bring this education to the KH. In many other areas, however, those attracted to the JWs are the more "humble" residents of the community. They many be nice folks, but by humble in this context I am referring to their lack of formal education. Their speech and reading skills are usually in keeping with their education and the environment in which they grew up.

  Unfortunately, in some of the less well educated congregations, importing better educated JWs has not worked well (my experience in this area goes back many years and could be different today). The "old timers" sometimes have been jealous of the "imports" and have attempted to drive them away. Yes, even in the JW communities there are petty jealousies and resistance to change, even though the changes might be for the better and/or are directed by Brooklyn.

  So much for separate and better than the world.

  Gary, my condolences. Indeed, you do have first hand knowledge of the terrible consequences of the murderous blood policy of the WTS.

  Lets hope this girl is allowed to receive proper medical care, that she beats the odds with the cancer and lives to see the WTS for what it is, a vicious and vial corporation interested only in self preservation.

  we sit here and bash the wbts for having gender separation, but what about us apostates?

  do the women apostates carry as much weight as the men, and why do you say so?

  Ros, the lady who runs Beacon: www.xjw.com has been a force for good in the former JW community for many years. Her site was among the first I saw when I began my internet search and it was a big help at that time.

  There is no way of knowing how many elders and potential elders are developing skepticism about the WTS. But, chances are that many are, especially among the more intelligent ones. If nothing else, the brain drain" is likely to continue and as the "teachers" in the congregations become increasingly dull and dim witted the brighter "publishers" may become increasingly irritated and impatient with the leadership

  Where these irritated publishers, usually women, go is uncertain, but as more and more obtain a computer and look around You know as well as I do that among of the first words they will put into a search engine is "Jehovahs Witnesses." And you know the story from there.

  I recently communicated with an old friend and learned to my amazement that his wife and another "sister" have been online for several years now. These are ladies in their 70s! I am surprised and pleased to learn that many older ones are taking the big step.

  One by one the WTS' foundation may be crumbling.

  This is great news! The father (on behalf of his daughter) could not have better trial witnesses than Muramoto and Penton. Both are intelligent and sincere gentlemen. Class acts all the way.

  Cassi,

  Sam Muramoto is a physician (both M.D. AND Ph.D.). He is VERY familiar with the fallacies of the JW blood dogma and has written extensively in the medical literature on this subject.

  I am less familiar with Jim Penton. He wrote Apocalypse Delayed, is/was a professor (of history?) in a Canadian College. If memory servers me, he is now retired from teaching. I think he is also a former JW.

  does every issue of morality have to be compared with the thinking and teaching of jehovahs witnesses?

  simply because you are no longer jehovahs witnesses does that mean that you flaunt all moral authority and engaged in any perverted pleasure that you have a mind to?

  because your morality is no longer legislated by a pseudo religious organization does that give you license to engage in all acts of "immorality" and refer to it "as just having fun.
